Fur Traders Suffer 9-3 Setback
The Pine Island Dolphins beat the Tacoma Fur Traders by a score of 9-3. Pine Island second baseman Jim Woods deserved the lion's share of the credit. Woods went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Dolphins. With the win, the Dolphins improved to 33-37.

Robert Ortega came through with a big-time hit for Pine Island. The catcher smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 7-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Woods. "You've got to get results."
