Farmers Handle Fat Cats, Nab 7-5 Win
|
The inspired effort of Ottawa right fielder Iván Galindo was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-5, to the Lancaster Farmers. Galindo went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tony Oliver, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. The 6th-place Farmers have a record of 37-38.
Scott Brady went 1 for 2 with a walk for Lancaster. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the seventh, Brady came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Farmers in front, 6-5.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Lancaster manager Young-hwan Hyon.
