Whales Topple Cangrejos Fantasmas, 6-2

The Virginia Beach Whales topped the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 6-2, at Ghost Crab Park. Virginia Beach designated hitter Jim Edwards was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Martin Sellers. He's now 2-4. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits for the Whales. The Whales sit in 7th place in the Menard's AA with a record of 42-47.
With Virginia Beach leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Edwards came up to bat against Chesapeake pitcher Steve Allen. Edwards hit a sinker to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Whales on top, 6-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Edwards said.
