Win Goes to Shredders in Tight Contest
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Hollywood Shredders and Colorado Billy Goats.
The Hollywood Shredders used the hitting of first baseman Kevin O'Rourke to subdue the Colorado Billy Goats, 6-4. For the game, O'Rourke went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Hollywood, with the win, is 27-53.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Joe Saunders came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Colorado pitcher Ron Jewell, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Hollywood on top, 4-3.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," O'Rourke told the Hollywood Daily. "It's as simple as that."
