Small Now 1-0 Following 5-0 Win
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Washington Generals home opener. Luis Salaza started for the home team against Rob Small for the Niagara Falls Expos. The Generals were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 5-0, Niagara Falls. Rob Small, though, was impressive.
Small dominated for Niagara Falls, raising his record to 1-0. Washington hitters had few good at-bats against the left-hander, who scattered 4 hits over 8.2 innings while striking out 5.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Small, "and then get after it again."
