Torch Make Vibes 5-3 Losers
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Rocky Mountain Vibes were eager to watch Julián Lucero square off against Arturo Hernández of the visiting Mancelona Torch. In the end, the Torch won the game, 5-3, with Arturo Hernández leading the way. Hernández got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 8 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Jorge Ruíz finished the game for Mancelona and earned his 1st save.
Freddy Bravo came through with a big-time hit for Mancelona. The designated hitter smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Arturo attacked hitters and trusted his stuff," said Mancelona manager Jason Cease.
