Bulls Deal Gallos 5-2 Loss

The Belleville Bulls took Delmarva pitcher Lewis Smith's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Cage. The final score had Belleville getting past the Gallos, 5-2. Smith went 5 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 7. Beau Davis, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Delmarva to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Luis Martínez picked up the save, his 2nd.
Chuck Gray drove in one run for Belleville. With one out and the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, Gray had a clutch at-bat. Facing Delmarva hurler Greg Campbell, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Bulls a 3-2 lead.
"We did enough to win," said Gray.
Belleville, with the win, is 2-1.
