Starting pitcher Simon Foster pitched well enough to help the Bethesda Atoms beat the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 6-4. Will Bennett wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save. The victory puts Bethesda at 9-13.

Had Jeffrey Whittier not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Whittier hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Atoms.

"Simon did a good job keeping the game under control," said Bethesda manager Esteban Garza.
