Turbeaus Absorb 6-3 Home Loss
|
With shortstop Ed Brandon leading the charge, the Olympia Ogres defeated the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 6-3, at Mobile Home Park. Brandon was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Clarence Butler went 7.1 innings for Olympia to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs. He scattered 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 3. His record improves to 3-1. Shi-min Sun got credit for the save for Olympia. It was his 1st of the year.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Lisiate Kaleba? The 25-year old catcher Kaleba stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Olympia up, 6-3. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Kaleba.
The 6th-place Ogres are 10-12.
