Ogres Tag Mariachis with 8-5 Loss
|
Olympia and Nuevo Mexico duked it out and the Ogres came out victorious.
The Olympia Ogres beat the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 8-5, at The Ogre Den. The Ogres got a fine performance from third baseman Dennis Walker, who was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3. David Mann, who went 7.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 4-3.
Olympia grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Duk-yoon Yun delivered a 2-run single, to make it 3-1, in favor of the Ogres.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Yun told the Olympia Citizen.
The 6th-place Ogres have won 4 in a row.
