At Marquette Stadium, the Marquette Miners and Mercer Island Screaming Eagles were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles cut down the Marquette Miners by the score of 7-3, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman Ulbert Solleveld. Solleveld was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Screaming Eagles. Paul Jefferson notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 1-0.

Solleveld had a crucial hit for Mercer Island with two out in the top of the fourth. With Mercer Island trailing 2-1, Solleveld hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 4-2.
