The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis went home winners at Vipers Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter José Tapia. Tapia stifled the Vancouver Vipers, enabling Nuevo Mexico to grab the 4-1 win. The save was credited to Samuel Morris, his 16th. The setback makes Vancouver 22-21.

Nuevo Mexico used the hitting of Bruce Wood to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Mariachis on top, 2-1. For the game, Wood had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"It never gets old," said Tapia. "Winning, that is."
