At Marquette Stadium, the Squirrel Hill Pierogis and Marquette Miners were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Marquette Miners and starting pitcher Marcus Thomas stifled the Squirrel Hill offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Marquette Stadium. Thomas, now 1-3, was the winner.
