Fighting Imps Fall to Atoms, 3-1
|
In a tight affair between the Bethesda Atoms and the Ithaca Fighting Imps, pitcher Carlos Ramos was in the zone. The Bethesda left-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Ramos, now 1-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. Baltwin Jens recorded his 2nd save for Bethesda.
Bethesda won the game in part because of Blake Murray. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Atoms ahead, 3-0. For the game, Murray had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I didn't leave too many pitches out over the plate," said Ramos.
Ithaca now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
