Bethesda Atoms starter Anthony Samuels turned in an exceptional performance against the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis at Mariachi Band Shell, resulting in a Bethesda win, 5-1. Will Bennett closed it out for his 14th save. The win elevated the Atoms to 28-20.
Bethesda used the hitting of Ron Wybergh to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Atoms on top, 5-0. For the game, Wybergh had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Said losing manager Allen Carlson: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
