Guinea Pigs Collect 6-3 Win Over Screaming Eagles
Fans who congregated at Mercer Island Grounds were treated to extra-inning drama.

Mercer Island wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Rick Burnett, falling to the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, 6-3. Burnett threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Gordon Whittier snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-3 on the season. Billy O'Bryan suffered the loss.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Pierrick Pasquet? The 24-year old center fielder Pasquet stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Gwinnett up, 4-3. For the game, he was 4 for 5, including 1 double and 3 singles.

Pasquet said his team "executed a good game plan."

With the win, the Guinea Pigs have a record of 27-31.
