Clarence Butler pitched well, but his team, the Olympia Ogres, still dropped a 2-0 decision to the Marquette Miners at Marquette Stadium. Marquette reliever Bryan Ogle got the win, raising his record to 4-1. Clarence Butler was tagged with the loss. Pedro Hernández earned the save for Marquette, his 3rd of the year.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Paul Scott didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Olympia trailing 2-0, Scott retired Armando Andrade to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Scott, with a wink.

The win puts Marquette at 29-29 this season.
