Ilija Maric knocked in 3 runs to help Vancouver beat Nuevo Mexico, 10-3. The Denton, Texas native tallied 2 singles and 1 home run. Vancouver starter Glenn Lortkipanidze was credited with the win after throwing 109 pitches over 8.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The Mariachis have now dropped 5 straight.

The Mariachis had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Vipers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old first baseman Hamilton Young came to the plate. Young hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from Nuevo Mexico hurler Burt Dickerson. It was Young's 7th home run of the year.
