Pierogis Earn Late 6-5 Win

Pierogis fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
Though he had a terrific game, Yuan Chou could not prevent his team, the Olympia Ogres, from absorbing a loss. Squirrel Hill won the game, 6-5. Chou was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jerry Shaw in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jack Albert took the loss.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Squirrel Hill trailing 5-4, Bruce King delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Jack Albert for a 2-run home run. Ballgame.
"The fans went nuts at the end," King said.
The Pierogis saw their win-loss record go to 28-34. At the same time, the Ogres fell to 32-30.
