Nevárez Now 4-7 After Beating Miners
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis earned a close win over the Marquette Miners, thanks in part to William Nevárez. The Nuevo Mexico right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the PAA in innings pitched with 86.1, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. The loss makes Marquette 31-32.

Nevárez was effective against the Miners, seldom allowing a hard-hit ball. The right-hander limited Marquette to just 1 run on 4 hits over 8 innings.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Nuevo Mexico manager Allen Carlson said.
