Sidney van Campen, who is tied for 4th in the PAA in strikeouts with 75, had a strong outing for the Olympia Ogres against the Philadelphia Liberty Academy at The Ogre Den. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. van Campen got the win, improving to 6-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Jack Albert earned the save for Olympia, his 13th.
Olympia took a 5-1 lead on Pat Rawsthorne's 10th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Rawsthorne hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Philadelphia pitcher Michael Walker visibly frustrated.
"It's going to click," said Philadelphia manager Clarence Miller. "It's just a matter of when."
Olympia now has a record of 35-34 with the win.
