McElroy Drills 2 Homers in 5-3 Gwinnett Win

Getting offensive support from Sam McElroy, the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs topped the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 5-3. McElroy belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Guinea Pigs. The Guinea Pigs, at 32-39, sit in 9th place in the Premier AA.
McElroy contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Gwinnett in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, McElroy took a cutter from José Tapia and stroked the home run to right. His 12th home run of the season allowed the Guinea Pigs to leap in front, 4-2.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said McElroy.
