Atoms Beat Crescent City, 6-5
|
Bethesda starter Dan Black pitched well against the Crescent City Krewe at Field of the Krewe. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-5, in 10 innings. Fred Jennings, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The 8th-place Atoms lifted their record to 34-37.
Bethesda used a timely hit from Dan Smith to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Atoms ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.
"Dan made some big pitches when he needed to," said Atoms manager Amadeo Nardello.
