Screaming Eagles Defeat Fighting Imps, 8-6
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 8-6, at Mercer Island Grounds. The Screaming Eagles got a fine performance from third baseman Julius Hicks, who went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times. Paul Jefferson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Allen Wagner, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA in holds with 6, was tagged with the loss. Roger Haines nailed down the save.

Joe Baker drew 1 walk for Mercer Island. In a tie game with no one out in the bottom of the seventh, Baker came through with a run-scoring walk. It put the Screaming Eagles in front, 6-5.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Hicks.

Mercer Island occupies 8th place in the Premier AA at 33-38.
