Guinea Pigs Bump Off Mariachis, 6-2
|
Gwinnett catcher Robby Stevens had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 6-2. Sam Frey, the winner, is now 8-4. He struck out 3 and walked 1 over 6 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 9 hits. The 9th-place Guinea Pigs improved to 33-39.
Stevens had a crucial hit for Gwinnett with two out in the bottom of the fourth. With Gwinnett trailing 2-1, Stevens hit a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Guinea Pigs ahead, 5-2.
"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Stevens.
