Yong Shines in 11-6 Nuevo Mexico Win
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Shi-xian Yong, the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 11-6. Yong went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Mariachis. Daniel Orr earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. Nuevo Mexico is now 36-38.

A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the second. That's when Yong hit a fastball from Roberto Valdéz for a 2-run single, putting Nuevo Mexico up, 2-0.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Yong told the Nuevo Mexico Today.
