Gulf Coast got a valiant performance from pitcher Kevin Harris, but it wasn't enough to beat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. Mercer Island won the game, 3-2. Harris threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Ron Pitts was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Raúl Sánchez. Roger Haines collected save number 5.

Mercer Island used the clutch hitting of Rudolf van Kastel to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Screaming Eagles the lead, 3-2. For the game, van Kastel had 1 single and 1 double in 2 at-bats.

"Tough loss," said Gulf Coast manager Neal Davis. "But we'll learn from it."

The Screaming Eagles go to 35-40, putting them 8th in the Premier AA.
