Screaming Eagles Knock Off Mariachis at Mercer Island Grounds
Led by David Acevedo, the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 6-3. Acevedo went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times for the Screaming Eagles. Mercer Island is 7th in the Premier AA with a record of 38-44.

The Mariachis had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Screaming Eagles going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old catcher Feng Ma came to the plate. Ma hit a 2-run home run on a 1-2 curveball from Nuevo Mexico hurler Martin Schneider. It was Ma's 5th home run of the year.

"Things didn't bounce our way," said Nuevo Mexico skipper Allen Carlson.
