The Bethesda Atoms wiggled past the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 3-2, in 10 innings at Atoms Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Bethesda catcher Doug Ramos. The win belonged to Hunter Holman in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Milo Church took the loss for Squirrel Hill. The Atoms have now won 6 straight.
The Atoms relied on designated hitter Tim Hutchinson for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"I really like what we did out there today," Ramos said after the game.
