The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs locked up a win at Experimental Stadium, knocking off the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 6-5. On the mound for Gwinnett was right-hander Lou Anderson. He played a major role in the triumph. Anderson picked up the win for Gwinnett, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. The third-place Guinea Pigs have won 7 consecutive games.

Ted Cunningham had a big grand slam home run for the Guinea Pigs in the bottom of the third inning. With Gwinnett leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a slider from Jeff McElroy, who is tied for 7th in the PAA in strikeouts with 83, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Guinea Pigs on top, 6-1.
