Ogres Continue Skid, Thanks to Mathis, Miners
|
The Marquette Miners defeated the Olympia Ogres by the score of 7-0, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Billy Mathis. Mathis went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Miners on the day. James Rose was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. The 6th-place Miners have won 4 straight.
