Screaming Eagles Get Better of Atoms, 6-1
At Atoms Field, the Bethesda Atoms and Mercer Island Screaming Eagles were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Bethesda had no answer for 28-year old left-handed pitcher Mark Moss. The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles starter stymied Atoms hitters, helping the Screaming Eagles cruise to victory, 6-1. The Screaming Eagles go to 41-51, putting them 9th in the Premier AA.

Mercer Island relied on the hitting of Ulbert Solleveld to pick up the win. The second baseman ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Screaming Eagles on top, 3-1. For the game, Solleveld had 1 triple and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"Mark made some big pitches when he needed to," said Screaming Eagles manager Eric Todd.
