Vipers Deal Liberty Academy 4-3 Defeat
|
The Vancouver Vipers defeated the Philadelphia Liberty Academy, 4-3, at Liberty Academy Field. Leading the charge for Vancouver was second baseman Rich Loudermilk. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Tae-kyun Hong, who is tied for 10th in the PAA in strikeouts with 78, was the winner. He's now 7-6. The loser was Chad May. Vancouver raised its record to 54-39 with the win.
In the first inning, Loudermilk had a 2-run home run for Vancouver. It was his 35th home run of the season and put the Vipers on top, 3-0.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Philadelphia manager Clarence Miller. "But we decided not to take it."
