Squirrel Hill Drops Another One, 2-1
|
Nuevo Mexico right-hander Bob Ashley helped his team edge Squirrel Hill by the score of 2-1. Ashley kept the opposing lineup in check. Picking up the save was Burt Dickerson, his 11th. Squirrel Hill is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
In the top of the third, Nuevo Mexico shortstop Wally Valdés whacked a fastball to left-center for a solo home run. His 14th home run of the season put the Mariachis in front, 2-1.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Valdés told the Nuevo Mexico Today.
