River Rats Win Nail-Biter in 11
The Columbia River Rats did just enough to nip the Niagara Falls Expos, 7-6, in 11 innings. Columbia pitcher Haden Manning, in particular, had a standout performance. Columbia reliever Gerald Sutton got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Chris Beatty was tagged with the loss. George Harris earned the save, his 1st.

Columbia needed the clutch hitting of Ledvik Plichtov to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the River Rats on top, 5-3. For the game, Plichtov had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Plichtov said.

The third-place River Rats hiked their record to 13-9.
