The Caldwell Chiefs overcame a pretty good performance by Belleville center fielder Carlos Carter, beating the Bulls, 4-3, in 10 innings. Carter was 4 for 5 with 3 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2. Steve Thomas picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Scot Dixon was tagged with the loss. The Chiefs improved their record to 12-13 with the win over Belleville.

The Chiefs got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Mauro Gonzáles. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Chiefs.

Gonzáles described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
