Airmen Stick Godfathers with 4-3 Loss
|
Alameda right fielder Luis Vargas played a vital role in his team's 4-3 conquest of Pontiac. He was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles for Alameda. The 11th-place Airmen now have a win-loss record of 11-14.
Jurrie Kila drove in one run for Alameda. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Kila had a clutch at-bat. Facing Pontiac hurler Félix Santana, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Airmen a 4-3 lead.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Kila.
