Airmen Win Squeaker, 4-3, Over Godfathers
|
The Alameda Airmen beat the Pontiac Godfathers, 4-3. Alameda pitcher and Watertown, Connecticut, native Milton Fisher led the way. Manny Cruz came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Todd Lee was called on to finish, recording his 7th save.
Jorge Reyes, who is tied for 6th in the 3A in bases on balls with 12, helped out the Alameda cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run triple. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3 with a triple and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"Milton has got a slow heartbeat," said Alameda manager Gonzalo Féliz. "He doesn't panic or anything."
With the win, the Airmen have a record of 12-14.
