Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Laredo Hawks and Caldwell Chiefs.

The Caldwell Chiefs could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Miguel González into a win. Instead, the Laredo Hawks prevailed, 1-0. González threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Sam Hart got the win, improving to 4-2. He held the Chiefs to no runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2.

The Hawks got a big boost from designated hitter Anamol Vishwamber who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning off Chiefs hurler Miguel González. It was his 18th RBI of the season and put Laredo on top, 1-0.

Laredo manager José Gato praised his team's "businesslike approach."

With the win, Laredo upped its record to 18-16.
