Chukars Get Past Alameda, 4-3
|
The Chukars earned a hard-fought, 4-3 win in 10 innings at Alameda Field. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Alameda pitcher Tim Ryan. Ryan went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Idaho Falls reliever Jorge Morales was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Todd Lee took the loss. Mario Happ earned save number 6 this season.
Idaho Falls used the timely hitting of António Medina to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Chukars on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Medina attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
The third-place Chukars lifted their record to 21-13.
