The Mancelona Torch reigned over the Columbia River Rats in damp conditions.

The Mancelona Torch defeated the Columbia River Rats, 5-2, at Torch Field. Leading the charge for Mancelona was center fielder Josh Thompson. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Scott Goff picked up the win, lifting his record to 3-6 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 1 in 7.1 innings, while yielding 2 runs.

In the bottom of the first, Thompson had a 3-run home run for Mancelona. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Torch on top, 3-0.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Thompson said after the game.
