The Alameda Airmen, despite a fine performance by Matlacha pitcher Wladimir van Munster, grabbed a 2-1 win in 12 innings at Fuller Park. van Munster allowed no runs over 5 innings. Matlacha is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 9 in a row.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Roy Hill? The 20-year old center fielder Hill stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Alameda up, 2-1. For the game, he was 3 for 6, including 1 double and 2 singles.
