Bulls Handle Godfathers, Grab 6-1 Win
|
Pontiac had no answer for Belleville Bulls hurler Peyton Larson, who overwhelmed Godfathers hitters as the Bulls coasted to victory, 6-1. Larson picked up the win for Belleville, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. Jorge Gracía finished the game for Belleville and earned his 1st save.
In the bottom of the fourth, Belleville center fielder Carlos Carter whacked a fastball to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Bulls in front, 2-0.
"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Carter told the Belleville Citizen.
After today's action, Belleville sits at 24-18; Pontiac slips to 25-17.
