River Rats Squelch Hawks Offense in Shutout Win
Columbia pitcher José Bojórquez had a large part in his team subduing the Laredo Hawks, 5-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Bojórquez yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 5, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-3. Columbia, at 29-17, sits in first place in the Menard's A.

The River Rats got a big at-bat from second baseman Carlos Ríos. For the game, Ríos was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Columbia a 1-0 lead.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Ríos said.
