Expos Done In By Chukars, 4-2
|
Niagara Falls second baseman Roberto Quintanilla had a good game, even if his team did not. The Expos dropped a 4-2 decision to Idaho Falls at Idaho Falls Park. Quintanilla was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Earnest McClure, who threw 100 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits. Idaho Falls has 4 straight wins, Niagara Falls 4 straight losses.
The Chukars got an important contribution from catcher Matt Turner, who in the bottom of the first knocked a 2-0 fastball to right for a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Chukars ahead, 4-0.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Turner.
