The Belleville Bulls used the hitting of left fielder Ron Reed to subdue the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 4-3. For the game, Reed went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Edward Wolthaus snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 3.1 innings. He's now 3-0 on the season. Scott Bates picked up his 2nd save of the season.
Reed contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Belleville in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-1, Reed took a slider from John Rowe and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Bulls to leap in front, 4-3.
Reed called the win "a collective effort."
The win makes Belleville 20-27.
