Choi Swings Chukars to 4-2 Win
|
The Idaho Falls Chukars knocked off the Laredo Hawks, 4-2, at Hawks Field. Yen-nien Choi was a big reason Idaho Falls won. The first baseman went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Fernando Rodríguez earned the win, while 21-year old right-handed pitcher Lewis Jones took the loss for Laredo. Idaho Falls is in 10th place in the Menard's A with a record of 21-28.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Choi hit a 2-run home run off Lewis Jones. It propelled the Chukars into the lead, 2-0.
"Bottom line," said Laredo skipper José Gato, "we didn't play well enough to win."
