Godfathers Stick Expos with 5-4 Loss
|
Waterfall Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Pontiac Godfathers and Niagara Falls Expos.
The Pontiac Godfathers had to overcome a fine effort from Niagara Falls pitcher Wen-hua Thum to win, 5-4, at Waterfall Park. Thum went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. With the win, the Godfathers improved to 33-24.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ryan Coleman? The 20-year old right fielder Coleman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Pontiac up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Pontiac manager John Moss.
