Bulls Stay Hot, Beat River Rats, 2-1
|
Belleville Bulls starter Ken Wilson pitched a good game to help his team take down the Columbia River Rats, 2-1. The win went to Lou Carlson in relief, making him now 1-2. Ramón Acosta took the loss for Columbia. Belleville has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 23-year old left fielder Jessie Brooks. Brooks had a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulls ahead, 2-1. For the game, Brooks had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Wilson.
