River Rats Earn Win with Late Rally
In a low-scoring tilt between the Columbia River Rats and the Belleville Bulls, 22-year old left-handed pitcher Melvin Riggle was the difference-maker. The Columbia left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The second-place River Rats now sit at 36-24.

Columbia got a game-changing hit from Fred Stevens. The shortstop blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.

"That's baseball," said Belleville manager Rafael Avelar. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
